Welcome to the Terrifying Tropics
Transform your space into a spooky tropical escape with these chillingly fun decor ideas:

Creepy Crafts - Jellyfish Lanterns
Creating jellyfish lanterns is a fun and whimsical way to bring an eerie underwater vibe to your Monster Island or tiki-inspired party! They’re perfect for décor — hanging from trees, ceilings, or cabana spaces. Here's how to make them step-by-step:
- Assemble Your Paper Lantern - Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to pop it open and set it up. White, teal, or light green lanterns give an ethereal jellyfish glow.
- Create Tentacles - Cut long strips of crepe paper, ribbon, yarn, or tulle. Use a mix of materials and lengths for texture and movement — aim for 6–10 per lantern. Add optional glow in the dark paint or glitter for a spooky effect
- Attach Tentacles - Hot glue or tape the tentacle strands to the inside bottom rim of the lantern. Space them out to give a full jellyfish look.
- Add Lighting - Place a battery-operated LED tealight or small fairy lights inside the lantern. If it’s open-bottomed, secure the light inside with string or wire.
- Hang Them Up - Use fishing line or clear thread to suspend your jellyfish from the ceiling, tree branches, umbrellas, or party tents. Vary the heights for a floating effect.
